The river is blessed to have a strong strain of native wild Brown Trout throughout its length

Sea Trout appear in the Devon from June onwards, depending entirely on river levels. Although occasional salmon may appear in the river throughout the season, the main run comes with the first late summer spates and generally peaking in late September and October

Occasionally Rainbow Trout washed out of the reservoirs appear in the river (which should be removed).
