Thanks for all the positive feedback over the last couple of weeks ………. its really appreciated!
There is still quite to do!
I hope to get the site a simpler web address in the next few weeks (as we will still be using the WordPress platform, the current wordpress.com address should still work).
There are more features to be added (a gallery, regular news from the Devon & Glenquey through the season and bit of background information)
George asked about online ticketing. There are no plans at the moment, but it is something along with online catch returns (which are really important sources of data for the DAA) which will be exploring for future seasons
………. OH IN CASE YOU HAVEN’T NOTICED IT’S ONLY 35 DAYS TO THE START OF THE SEASON ON THE RIVER!
Not that I am counting 🙂
Crown Office and Procurator Fiscal Service press release on Scottish Water’s conviction for polluting the River Devon
Sara Shaw, Procurator Fiscal, Wildlife and Environment said:
“These incidents were, sadly, entirely avoidable.
“Both incidents were brought to the attention of SEPA by members of the public, at which point the environmental damage was already done. If proper safeguards, and an effective system for checking and maintaining Scottish Water plant, had been in place, both of these incidents could have been prevented. At the very least, earlier intervention by Scottish Water could have lessened their environmental impact.
“Scottish Water failed to implement appropriate inspection, maintenance and notification systems. That failure, the resultant damage to the environment and the impact on the local communities, is unacceptable.”
SEPA have issued a news release covering the recent prosecution of Scottish Water;

Scottish Water were fined £10,0000

A couple of notes from the AGM that will be of interest to members:
The webmaster is so sad, he has counted the days and knows that it is only 53 days to the start of the new trout season ……… and he cannot wait to cast a line once again on the Fossoway beats!
Roll on March!
