On Monday 20th January 2014, Scottish Water plead guilty at Alloa Sherriff Court of allowing upto 2640 gallons (12,000 litres) of sulphuric acid to leak from storage tanks and containment bunds at their Glendevon Water Treatment Works. which ultimately resulted in a fish kill with an estimated mortality level of 30,000 fish in the River Devon.
Scottish Water were fined £10,0000
